Academy-Award winning director Sam Raimi has been confirmed to direct the upcoming movie based on the popular MMO Warcraft, gamesindustry.biz reported today.
Raimi, best known for his work on the Spider-Man trilogy, will be working alongside Charles Roven of Atlas Entertainment. Atlas has brought numerous successful films to the public, including The Dark Knight. Raimi and Roven will bring a plethora of producing partners to the film, with several from Blizzard Entertainment.
Legendary Pictures plans to release the film, although specific dates, as well as casting choices, are currently unknown.
