In light of DQV's DS re-release and subsequent destruction of the island of Japan (834k in 2 weeks!), I thought we should take a look at the series history and how the mainline titles have sold.

Note:
This is the #1 most-clicked-on chart on our entire site. Congrats Dragon Quest, you're a real draw!
The whole series is EXTREMELY over-rated.
Definitely no match for the FF series.
I think you mean the whole series is EXTREMELY awesome.
I think you mean the whole series is EXTREMELY under-rated.
Both are EXTREMELY awesome. Nevertheless, anyone who does not like Dragon Quest is a total ignorant!
I have played many rpgs, including most final fantasy games, and most dragon quest-warrior, and i think what makes usually better dq over ff is the quality of the combat system, and the puzzles mixed with the story of the game, even if it usually follows the "hero vs the demon-diabolic-whatever bad guy". final fantasy has some great games, but also many poor experiments like ff13, ff10, ff9, and even ff1 and ff2, while only the first two dq were a little worse than the first two ff because of its unbalanced difficulty. dq3-dw3 made a huge jump in rpgs history, and whoever denies that, probably cant undertand that rpgs arent about graphics, but gameplay.
DQ series is way better than FF. Also, FF1 is the best game in the whole series.
