PS3, DS Sales Surge, Wii Climbing; PSP and 360 Take a Step Back

12/4/08

Japan - The Nintendo DS and the Sony PS3 both a good start to the season, with the DS hitting its 5th week in a row of sales over 85 thousand and the PS3 doubling its sales from the previous week all the way up to 34 thousand.

The Wii, on a noticeable contraction from December 2007's historic run, is still climbing and seems to be riding what little momentum Animal Crossing: City Folk can generate.

In a weird twist, just as the PSP had an excellent software week with five of the top ten titles, it takes a small step back to 55 thousand, 6 thousand less than the prior week. But it is not alone, the 360 also slid from 15 thousand and now hovers near 11 thousand.
